Alexander Baboian is een multidimensionale gitarist, componist en docent uit Boston die door de bekende muziekdocent Hal Crook in JazzWax is beschreven als een 'toekomstige grote stem in jazz' en door All About Jazz als 'een geweldige componist, een originele improvisator en een geschikte bandleider'.
Hij studeerde in 2014 af aan het befaamde Berklee College of Music, waar hij prijzen ontving voor uitstekende prestaties van de gitaarafdeling. Hij heeft ook masterdiploma's in zowel compositie als jazzuitvoering van Yerevan State Conservatory en het Royal Conservatoire Antwerp.
Hij heeft opgetreden op grote festivals, zoals het Washington DC Jazz Festival, Boston Beantown Jazz Festival, JEN Jazz Conference en Morgenland Festival Osnabrück, evenals locaties zoals Music Village Brussels, Hotclub Gent, Bimhuis Amsterdam, A-Trane Berlin, U Maleho Glena Prague en Opus Jazz Club Budapest. He graduated from the acclaimed Berklee College of Music in 2014 where he received awards for outstanding achievement from the guitar department. He also holds master's degrees in both composition and jazz performance from Yerevan State Conservatory and Royal Conservatoire Antwerp.
He has performed at major festivals such as the Washington DC Jazz Festival, Boston Beantown Jazz Festival, JEN Jazz Conference, and Morgenland Festival Osnabrück as well as venues such as Music Village Brussels, Hotclub Gent, Bimhuis Amsterdam, A-Trane Berlin, U Maleho Glena Prague and Opus Jazz Club Budapest. He has led workshops in America, Europe and Asia and composed for ensembles internationally as well as for films and multimedia.
